The Infinite Heart Muay Thai series is back in Campbell River on April 27, with 11 bouts of fighting planned.

It’s the second event in the series and will have the full rules.

“This is not the same as the sparring events that we have,” says Sandra Bastian, the organizer of the end and one of the owners of Heart and Soul Muay Thai. “This is an actual fight card where the fighters can use all eight weapons of Muay Thai; punches, kicks, knees, and elbows.”

Three athletes from Campbell River will be on the card, with only one, Sara von Weber, being from Heart and Soul. Anthony Granados and Chase Gunderson are the other Campbell Riverites and are members of Ara Studio and Fitness.

Other fighters come from communities elsewhere on the Island, Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna, and Winnipeg.

Eagles Hall is hosting the event, kicking off the action at 6 p.m. on April 27.

“We are excited to say it is completely sold out,” says Bastian.

However, those wanting to spectate can buy a ticket for an online stream for $45. The stream starts ten minutes earlier than the fights (5:50 p.m.) and covers the whole event.
