Our Walk for Hearts on Sunday, May 5 was a resounding success.

Everyone enjoyed the emceeing of Joanne Banks, lively music of Rich Hagensen and the warm up provided by Jodi and Deanna as well as refreshments and lots of lovely prizes.

From the bottom of our refurbished hearts, we thank all of you who helped us raise $12, 281 with more to come at our 37th annual Walk – all our members and friends who donated prizes and food and everyone who volunteered at the event; all the businesses and citizens who donated funds, walkers; those who went into the community getting and giving pledges.

Very Special Thanks to Joanne Banks and Rich Hagensen, the Campbell River Mirror, C.R. Rotary, Willow Point Lions, Peninsula Co-op C. River, Tracey Jackson and Hub Barton, WP Tim Horton’s, Matt Morris - Raven 100.7 FM Radio, Klassy K Esthetics, Jodi and Deanna and Strathcona Gardens.

Special thanks to:

Top fundraisers: The Schmitke Family, Dawn Piche’/ Bob Tonkin & Tracey Jackson (Hub Barton) as well as the McRann family and Sandi Paulsen.

All of you have ensured financial support for heart patients and the purchases of life saving cardiac equipment for our CR Hospital. Anyone is welcome to join us. We are not affiliated with the Heart & Stroke Foundation nor do we receive any government funding. We are a local support group for heart patients and their families, all volunteers. The funds are raised locally and stay local! See you next year!
