In Loving Memory ~

It's with great sadness that we announce that Wes passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side.

He lived a very full life with going to work at just 14 yrs old in the logging industry after the tragic death of his father.

He was an operator and mechanic at numerous logging camps on Vancouver Island until joining the Air Force in the 50's as an aircraft mechanic and had the opportunity to travel to many different states finally settling at the Comox Air Base.

He left the Air Force in the early 60's and moved the family to Campbell River where he bought and ran a Shell Service Station for many years. He then decided to return to the logging industry working as a heavy-duty mechanic.

His next big move was leaving the logging industry and starting his own company, that was when "Seymour Services" was established. Wes sold the business in the 80's and semi-retired, but the business is still well known in our community.

Wes lived his life on his own terms and worked very hard to provide a great life for his family. He and his wife Gerri built their dream house on the beach where he continued to monkey wrench and cutting and selling firewood with his biggest year being 32 cords cut!

His last few years were spent spending time with the family that he cherished, telling stories from the past and enjoying the family antics of today.

He is pre-deceased by his wife of 60 years Gerri (2021) and leaves to mourn his daughters; Sharlene (Norm), Tracy (John), grandchildren Shanna (Josh), Jeff (Melissa), Adam (Kianna), Bryce (Katelyn) and great grandsons Austin, Levi and Wyatt.

Special thanks to Dr. LeBeauf, Farias and Stegemen, and the many nurses for the great care they gave dad during this difficult time.

As per request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local SPCA in Wes's name.
