Enjoy a virtual tour of Campbell River’s premiere retirement community

What’s included? How long is the wait? This and more from Berwick by the Sea!

Campbell River’s Loren Butler is always eager to take prospective new residents on a tour of Berwick by the Sea, showing off all the amazing features, views and amenities that residents get to enjoy every day.

But not every prospective resident is able to attend an in-person tour. So the Community Relations Manager has added a special ‘virtual tour,’ providing a closer look at what new residents can look forward to.

Designed around a landscaped atrium with resident suites spread throughout all six floors, the first floor also features the lobby and reception, movie theatre, library, fireside games lounge and fitness centre.

“Our first floor is a hub of activity and where residents often congregate prior to our monthly Berwick bus trips,” Loren says. “It also features our ocean-view dining room, private dining room and the bistro. The private dining room allows residents to host their own dinner parties with a dedicated server and the option to offer the current menu or work with our chef to create a personalized menu plan.”

In-person tours offer potential new residents and their families the opportunity to ask Loren all of their most pressing questions, including the two most common: ‘What’s included in the suite fees?’ and ‘How long is the wait time?’

As for what’s included, Loren says, “Quite a lot! All basic living expenses are covered including hydro, basic cable and phone services, as well as meals curated by our Executive Chef, Stephanie Martinolich, linen and towel service, access to our full program of social and recreational activities and on-site 24/7 emergency response services. Our current wait times are six to 12 months for a suite, so we strongly encourage interested parties to join our waitlist sooner rather than later!”

While floors two through five are primarily residential floors, the sixth floor hosts resident suites as well as the stunning Tyee Lounge.

We love the lounge! It offers 180-degree ocean and city views, a cosy fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a book or catch up with friends.

Fun fact, adds Loren, the 56.7-pound Tyee salmon mounted above the entrance was actually caught by a previous Berwick by the Sea resident!
