Donna passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 17, 2024, in Campbell River B.C, with her daughter, granddaughter, and close friend by her side during her final days.
Predeceased by her husband Fred (2014), Their daughter Judy (2010), and Daughter in law Sandei (2020). Survived by her Children; Ian (Lorilee), Shelley (Bill), and Glenn (Marleen), as well as her Grandchildren; Cameron, Kyle, Morgan, Ryan, Megan, and Jessie, and her Great grandchildren; Mia, Benny, Jake, Hannah, Robert, Haley, Lilly, Meika, Zyan, Nova, Savian, Wrayden, Ryler, Mason, and Colton.
A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Discovery Harbour Care Center for the amazing care they provided to our mother/ grandmother. Your thoughtfulness, diligence, accommodation for family and attention to detail are so appreciated. You succeeded at making sure she was happy and comfortable during her stay.
Born in Woodburn Indiana to Mabel and Carl Welsh and raised in Sprucedale, Ontario. She had two sisters Maxine and Kerry. Donna married the love of her life, Fred in 1950. They raised 4 children together, Ian, Shelley, Judy and Glenn. She enjoyed her work at Zellers for over 10 years, in her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and painting. She was well known for giving beautiful hand-crafted gifts to family and friends. In 2000, Donna and Fred moved to Campbell River to be closer to family and enjoy the coastal life.
A small intimate service will be held at the Church of Christ on April 27 at 3:00pm. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to SPCA or Campbell River and North Island Transition Society.
